2014 Monlau Team 12 Silverstone GPTeam Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders will start tomorrow’s race from the front row of the grid.

The good work done by the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders since their arrival at Silverstone was converted into a strong qualifying showing today, as they claimed the first and third fastest times in the British Grand Prix grid-deciding session. Alex Rins took pole position, with teammate Alex Marquez also on the front row in third. After the third position taken by Rins yesterday and sixth for Marquez, today the two proteges of Emilio Alzamora again demonstrated how well the track suits their Honda bikes.

During the third free practice session this morning, Alex Rins went fastest, lowering the fastest time set yesterday by Danny Kent by 1.299s. Across the garage, Alex Marquez was the first to breach the barrier of 2:14 seconds and led much of the practice today, until a final lap that saw his teammate set the top lap and leave him 0.175 behind.

In the afternoon qualifying session both led the way, always amongst the fastest in the class.

With 15 minutes left in the session, Rins topped the timesheets and teammate Marquez was second. In the final minutes, rival Antonelli crept between the two Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders and relegated Marquez to third position on the grid.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the Moto3 race will be held at 2:30pm local time.

Alex Rins – 1st, 2’13.112 sec., 29 laps, 171 km.
«From Friday we have felt very comfortable with the bike. Thanks to the great work by the team we managed to solve the small problems we had and we seem to have found the right way to go. Tomorrow we need to confirm this in the race, but we know it will be difficult, because as always there will be many riders in a group and we have to play our cards right. Along with my teammate Alex [Marquez], it seems that we have the best pace, but this class has shown that it is not just about that».

Alex Marquez – 3rd, 2’13.450 sec., 29 laps, 171 km.
«The practice sessions were very tight and it was important to take a place on the front row of the grid for tomorrow. I think we’ve done a good job, but we have lacked the luck of a good reference or at least less traffic. I’m happy with the front row and focusing on tomorrow, because we have a good pace. The important thing is to make a good start and push from the moment the lights go out, so that the group is a little smaller than it was at Brno. It will be difficult, because there are many straights. Our aim will be cut further points from Miller’s lead».
