Alex Rins started riding at the age of six.
In 2012, he debuted in the Moto3 World Championship with the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0. He already showed signs of his ability in his second GP in Jerez, where he won the pole. At Le Mans and under harsh conditions, he confirmed his talent by getting his first world championship podium after starting from 26th position. He finished the campaign in fourth position, also winning the title of Rookie of the Year. In 2013, he got six victories and five podiums, fighting for the title until the last curve of the last race, when he was overcome by Viñales.
In 2014, he won the third place in the Moto3 World Championship.
Last season he leapt to Moto2, achieving second place and winning the Rookie of the Year title. He achieved 2 wins, 10 podiums and 3 poles in his first season in the intermediate category. In 2016, Rins got to the last race with option to fight for the world runner-up in an intense race in which he finished in second position, obtaining the third position in the championship.
In 2017, he lands in the first category with a clear purpose, to become rookie of the year.
